A simple and quick Slovenian meal is called “žganci”  and is made with buckwheat flour. Ingredients: 5 dl water pinch salt 1 cup buckwheat flour 5 tablespoons hot lard with cracklings Method: Place the water in saucepan and add salt. When boiling add flour, but don’t mix. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. Make a hole in the center of the flour with a wooden spatula and keep boiling for 10 minutes. Pour out about a half of the water and set aside. Beat the mixture well. Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts (17 oz) 1 small red onion 1 small white onion 1 red bell pepper 1 green bell pepper 2 small tomatoes 3 tbs olive oil 1 small chili pepper 1 tsp sweet paprika powder salt, cayenne pepper to taste Slice the chicken breasts into smaller strips. Salt it and add paprika powder and cayenne pepper. Mince the onions, slice the bell peppers, tomatoes and chili pepper into small pieces. Heat the olive oil with the minced onions in a large saucepan over medium heat. when the onions turn golden, mix in the chicken strips.
