Tart Dough


Make delicious fruit tarts at home, quickly and easily. Here’s a tart dough recipe, which is so delicious and easy to make that you’ll always want to use it.


  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 + 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 + 1/3 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • pinch of salt


Mix egg yolks with confectioner’s sugar in a large bowl. Add salt and butter, wormed up to room temperature, and mix together. Add flour to the mixture and turn it out, onto a floured counter, and knead it well; for about 5-10 minutes. Form a ball, place it back into the bowl, cover with cloth and refrigerate for at least an hour. Roll the dough out into desired shape using a rolling pin. Make sure the work surface is slightly floured at all times, so the dough doesn’t stick to it. Transfer the rolled out dough into a well greased baking sheet or tart pan. Now prick the bottom of the tart shell all over using a fork. Set the shell in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes, before baking it.
