Potato Dough


Potato dough can be used for a variety of delicious foods like gnocchi or all sorts of knoedles with many different fillings. Try it out:)


  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 + 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tsp salt


Boil the potato slices for 15-20 minutes. When they are well cooked, remove from heat and drain them. Transfer them into a large bowl, add butter and mash them well. Cover and leave them to cool completely. (it’s very important that the mashed potatoes are really cooled, before you proceed). Now mix in the eggs, flour and salt. Knead the dough (be careful not to stir and knead too much) and form into desired shape.
