Nutella Flavor Cake

If you like the taste of Nutella, then this is just the recipe, you’ve been searching for. It’s easy to make, tastes delicious and also looks amazing! Let’s move on to the recipe for the best Nutella cake:

Ingredients:

For the batter:
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 + 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 rounded tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbs Nutella
For the frosting:
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 5 tbs Nutella

and

  • 1/2 cup milk + 1 tbs sugar + 1 tsp rum for moistening

Method:

Preheat your oven to 350F. Seperate egg yolks from whites. In a first large bowl mix together the egg yolks, one half of confectioner’s sugar and vanilla extract. Mix using an electric mixer, until fluffy; or at least for 2-3 minutes. Add Nutella, and mix for another 2 minutes.  Mix the baking powder with all purpose flour, and slowly mix it into the Nutella-egg mixture. In a seperate bowl, whip the egg whites until soft peaks, and gradually add the remaining confectioner’s sugar. Mix the whipped egg whites gently into the batter and stir well, using a whisk.

Pour the batter into a round cake pan, and bake for 30 minutes, or until the toothpick, inserted in the middle, comes out clean.

Set aside to cool, then slice into 2 or more layers.

Now prepare the frosting. Whip the whipping cream using the electric mixer, and just before you’re done, mix in the Nutella, and mix until smooth. At this point, you’re almost done!

Place the first (c0oled down) cake layer onto a round plate. Mix together the milk, sugar and rum. Moisten the cake layer with 1 half of this mixture (depends on how many cake layers you have)Spread the cake layer with frosting and cover with the second layer. (if you have more layers, spread the filling equally between the layers)Cover with the top layer and use the remaining frosting around and over the top of the cake.  Chill for a few hours, then decorate as desired.
