A simple and quick Slovenian meal is called “žganci” and is made with buckwheat flour.
Place the water in saucepan and add salt. When boiling add flour, but don’t mix. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. Make a hole in the center of the flour with a wooden spatula and keep boiling for 10 minutes. Pour out about a half of the water and set aside. Beat the mixture well. Add the lard and mix. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
