There’s nothing better than a piece of delicious freshly baked white bread. Here’s a recipe you may find interesting.
Sift the flour into a large bowl and make a hole in the middle of the flour. Place the salt around the edges of the bowl. Mix the water with yeast and 1 tsp sugar and pour the mixture into the hole, that you made in the flour. Make sure the yeast doesn’t get in the contact with salt at this point. Set aside to a warm place for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile mix together beaten egg, oil, milk and the remaining sugar.
After the yeast mixture forms bubbles, add the mixture, you made before and stir. Now turn the dough out onto a floured counter and start to knead. If it becomes sticky, add a little more flour. After you kneaded for 10 minutes, and the dough is smooth and elastic, placed it into a greased bowl, coat with a little vegetable oil or spray with an oil spray. Cover the bowl with a cloth and set aside in a warm place for about an hour.
Cut the dough in two equal pieces and shape each into a rectangle the length of the loaf pan. Now place them into two floured loaf pans, cover with a cloth and let rise for an hour, in a warm place. After the dough has risen, brush both with a mixture of water and milk. Wait 3-4 minutes and brush again. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 375 F. Cool on a wire rack.
